“How many have you loved?”
Is your answer, one and only?
Or is it several, all of whom have shaped your life?

And to YOU.. Yes. YOU. You are my Who, What, When, Where, and Why..
I just don’t think we’ve met.. or we did? 😉

‘il dolce far niente’

My four-month hiatus from work officially ends tonight. I am starting a new phase tomorrow. I just want to thank you Lord, for giving me more than enough time to enjoy the ‘sweetness of doing nothing’ with my favorite people 🙂

Naicey, Bubbi, Fahran.. Thank you for being my most consistent buddies and for refilling my love tank every single day. I love you three. :*

For now, it’s hello alarm clock again. 😉

Watercolor Crafternoon with My Favorite Classmate

Since I was alone when I attended the Calligraphy Crafternoon last month.. I promised myself that I would bring one of my friends to one of the workshops next time. I wanted to share with them the joy of discovering a new therapeutic hobby or that happy feeling of reviving old skills.

So last Saturday I tagged my bestfriend along with me to attend Teacher Alessa’s Watercolor Crafternoon at Pipino Veg. Pipino, owned by the CraftMaster, Teacher A, serves healthy vegetarian meals, guilt-free sweets like cakes, muffins and cookies, and refreshing smoothies.

Watercolor Pan Set and Brushes given to each participant.

Teacher A explained the basics of watercoloring.. she discussed about choosing the proper brush type and size, scouting for textured papers and the performing different strokes to achieve the gradients we want. She gave us papers and lent us some of her brushes for us to experiment.

Watercolor exercises for beginners.

Meet, Teacher A. 🙂

After the warm up exercises, we were asked to paint the alphabet and draw something about ‘The Filipino Spirit is Waterproof’ in relation to the recent calamity we had. (spell P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E!!!!!haha)

Diane and her masterpiece.

Talent Board!

Thank you Teacher A! 🙂

It was really a colorful Saturday for Diane and I. Thank you Lord for good company, yummy food, colors, tints, shades, and brushes! Everyday indeed is an opportunity to learn. 🙂

Calligraphy Crafternoon, Reviving an Old Hobby

I remember during my elementary days I was consistently awarded ‘Best in Penmanship’. Back then, I felt like I had the best script or cursive handwriting because I practiced more than my classmates did. I already finished exercises on my writing workbook even before my teacher’s announcement of the deadline. But when I was in highschool, I somehow lost my enthusiasm in writing in cursive and preferred jotting my notes in plain handwriting. In college, things got worse.. I didn’t write much and only had one notebook because I photocopied my classmates’ notes.

Last Saturday, I had a chance to attend a Calligraphy Crafternoon organized by Ms. Alessandra Lanot at PINO Bar and Resto. Ms. A shared to us some stroke techniques, pen and ink tips, and she gave us worksheets to practice. It was an informal workshop and it’s more like learning while having fun.

I finally met the MasterCrafter, Teacher Alessandra. (sooooo kilig, fan mode! haha : D)

My first calligraphy pen. 🙂

My new-found-crafty-friends! (Apple, Keevee, and Czar.. Aya, picture coming soon hehe)

Ms. Fozzy, the Calligraphy Master, and her sample stroke. (W-O-W as in wooooow!)

To be surrounded by people who share the same interest with you was really an amazing feeling. I honestly envy people who were born singers but when I met these people who were exceptionally gifted with arts/crafts.. I didn’t feel like I envy them, it was more like inspiration-overload. I now look forward to doing ‘projects’ with my new-found-‘craftyfriends’.

Creative minds + Creative hands = Happy Calligraphers! 🙂

Playing with fonts.. and my pen kept bleeding.

The Wall of Artists.

After the workshop, I went home with a big smile in my face. I know God has sent me a message through the workshop and the creative people I met. He probably wants to remind me of things I was really passionate about so He gave me a chance to revive an old hobby.

I am really blessed beyond measure. 🙂

BellyGood Project in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..

Hi! After nights of brainstorming, I finally came up with how will I start this food project. First of all, I am no food expert and I consider myself as a picky eater. If there is one thing that I am thankful for being picky at food, I think it is how I was able to develop my patience on things. I learned to enjoy removing pineapples on my hawaiian pizza, pickles and lettice from Mcdo’s cheeseburger, raisins from cinnamon bread, ube from halo-halo, green peas from yangchow fried rice, and the list goes on. My tastebuds tell me that there are some food combinations that don’t really compliment each other so well and should be eaten as is. Forgive me for I am weird that way. 😀

I probably have no right to do food reviews for I have no formal training in food tasting but I AM A FOOD LOVER. I like to share with you my experiences in trying different cuisines with my family and friends, experimenting recipes at home, and my habit of giving simple treats to myself. Don’t expect me to write about calorie issues or health benefits.. I leave that job to the critics of the food industry.

My food posts will be divided into 3 categories:
1. Dine Out / food trips from international cuisines to hole-in-the-walls
2. Tuesday Treats / simple food pleasures and random cravings
3. What’sforDinner / home-cooked meals for the family

I’ve always believed that it’s better to count the memories we had with people we love than the calories we gained in eating with them.

Tara na, let’s fill our bellies!
Bon Appétit! 🙂

Birthday Resolutions

Our birthday is always considered our own personal new year.
So to get this year off to a good start, I wrote down my random list of 25 things I want to accomplish before I turn 25 next year.

I need prayers for #25!HAHA 😀

I wish to update this post next year with so much to share. (fingers crossed :))

Happy New Year!:-)

There are simple things that you love that even time and age can’t change. I’ve always been a fan of blowing birthday candles when I was a kid and up to now I still am. Regardless whether you have your birthday candle on top of your favorite cake, muffin, doughnut, or pizza, I guess it wouldn’t matter as long as you have the chance to close your eyes, say a little prayer and make a wish.

Thank you bestfriend for the cake and for reminding me how young I am. 😀 I love you!

To all those who bothered to greet me (via sms, twitter, instagram) on my special day, THANK YOOOOOOUU and cheers to another year full of God’s blessings! 🙂
